MIJIZA GREEN
President
Mijiza Green is a Special Educator at Harford County Public Schools. She developed Treasured Jewels mentor program in 2012 starting with 17 girls she is currently in 4 schools and has a total 250 members. Mijiza has degree in Business Management and is working toward her Master’s in Psychology. She has worked with children for more than 10 years and has been contracted to create programs for the Boys & Girls Club, HCPS, YMCA, and Teen Court.
Keeping the success of children always on her mind, she wanted to have more resources to decrease suspension rates in her school, so alongside her husband Nathanal Green in 2017 they developed G.R.A.C.E. Empowerment & Young Men Empowered, which teaches teens who have been suspended from school or have committed minor crimes about self-esteem, conflict resolution, bullying, and more to build character in our youth.
Today, Mijiza strives each day to impact the lives of a youth so they do not have to experience trauma as she did, raised in the streets of Brooklyn NY. In the process of finishing her first book, with her husband, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren, she understands her purpose is to tell her story and share her testimony in order to fulfill her destiny, by creating change in this world, and empowering youth one child at a time.
