The story is about a young girl named Mijiza who endured being teased and bullied because of her dark-skin tone. She was often told she was pretty to be dark-skinned. This made her feel very insecure. She began to envy girls with a lighter skin tone. After speaking with her parents about what she was going through, she came to realize that she was not just pretty to be dark-skinned. She was simply pretty-period. Not only was she pretty, but she was special and unique with a God-given purpose.
"PRETTY TO BE DARK-SKINNED" will empower children of all ages to be self-confident and understand that beauty comes in many different shapes, sizes and skin tones.
